નૌશેરા (જમ્મુ કશ્મીર) તા.1 જાન્યુઆરી 2020, બુધવાર જમ્મુ કશ્મીરના રાજૌરી જિલ્લામાં આવેલી અંકુશ રેખા નજીક આજે બુધવારે સવારે દેશમાં ઘુસવા માગતા આતંકવાદીઓ સાથેની અથડામણમાં ભારતીય લશ્કરના બે જવાનો શહીદ થયા હોવાનું લશ્કરી પ્રવક્તાએ જણાવ્યું હતું. પાકિસ્તાની કબજા હેઠળના કશ્મીરમાંથી આતંકવાદીઓ નૌશેરા નજીક થરયાટના જંગલ વિસ્તારમાં થઇને દેશમાં ઘુસવા માગતા હતા. ભારતીય લશ્કરના જવાનોએ એમને પડકાર્યા હતા.  જવાબમાં આતંકવાદીઓએ ગોળીબાર શરૂ કર્યા હતા. ભારતીય લશ્કરે જવાબી ગોળીબાર શરૂ કર્યા હતા. આ અથડામણમાં ભારતીય લશ્કરના બે જવાનો શહીદ થયા હતા. જમ્મુમાં ભારતીય લશ્કરના જનસંપર્ક અધિકારી લેફ્ટનંટ કર્નલ દેવેન્દ્ર આનંદે કહ્યું હતું કે અથડામણ હજુય ચાલુ છે. વધુ વિગતો હજુ આવી નથી. આપણા બે જવાનો શહીદ થયા હતા. તેમણે કહ્યું હતું કે આતંકવાદીઓ આ માર્ગે દેશમાં ઘુસવાના પ્રયાસો કરશે એવી બાતમી લશ્કરી ગુપ્તચર વિભાગને મળી હતી એટલે લશ્કરી જવાનો સાબદા હતા.

કૈથલ (ઉત્તર પ્રદેશ) તા.31 ડિસેંબર 2019, મંગળવાર ભાજપના ઉત્તર પ્રદેશના કુરુક્ષેત્ર વિસ્તારના સાંસદ નાયબ સૈનીએ નાગરિકતા સુધારા કાયદા અંગે બોલતાં કોંગ્રેસના ભૂતપૂર્વ અધ્યક્ષ રાહુલ ગાંધીને મૂર્ખશિરોમણી ગણાવ્યા હતા. કૈથલના જાહેર બાંધકામ ખાતાના રેસ્ટ હાઉસમાં સ્થાનિક લોકોની સમસ્યા જાણવા ગયેલા સાંસદ મિ઼ડિયા સાથે વાતચીત કરી રહ્યા હતા ત્યારે બોલ્યા કે સીએએ શું છે એની રાહુલને કશી સમજ નથી. એ મનમાં આવે એવો બડબડાટ કર્યે જાય છે. સાંસદે કહ્યું કે કોઇ પણ નવા કાયદા વિશે બોલતાં પહેલાં સમજવાની કોશિશ કરવી જોઇએ કે આ શું છે અને શા માટે છે. માત્ર બોલવા ખાતર બોલીને પોતાની અક્કલનું પ્રદર્શન ન કરવું જોઇએ. તેમણે એવો દાવો કર્યો હતો કે સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટે પરવાનગી આપ્યા બાદ આસામમાં એનઆરસી લાગુ પાડવાની જાહેરાત થઇ હતી. આખા દેશમાં એનઆરસી લાગુ પાડવાની યોજના છે. અગાઉની સરકારે લીધેલા આ નિર્ણયનો અમે માત્ર અમલ કરી રહ્યા છીએ. હરિયાણામાં મનોહરલાલ ખટ્ટરે પોતે પણ એનઆરસી લાકુ પાડવાની વાત સ્વીકારી છે એવું પણ તેમણે કહ્યું હતું.

શ્રીનગર તા.31 ડિસેંબર 2019, મંગળવાર જમ્મુ કશ્મીરમાં સોમવારે રાત્રે ભૂકંપના મધ્યમ કક્ષાના એક કરતાં વધુ આંચકા આવતાં લોકો ગભરાઇને ઘરની બહાર નીકળી ગયા હતા. રાષ્ટ્રીય ભૂકંપ વિજ્ઞાન કેન્દ્રે આપેલી માહિતી મુજબ બે કલાકમાં મધ્યમ કક્ષાના ચારેક આંચકા આવ્યા હતા અને તેને લઇને લોકો ગભરાઇ ગયા હતા. રિક્ટર સ્કેલ પર 4.5થી 5.5.ની કક્ષાના આંચકા નોંધાયા હતા.  આ તમામ આંચકાનું એપિસેન્ટર દસ કિલોમીટરની અંદર જ હતું.  પહેલો આંચકો રાત્રે 10-42 કલાકે આવ્યો હતો. બીજો આંચકો આશરે અર્ધા-પોણા કલાક પછી એટલે કે 11-20 કલાકે અનુભવાયો હતો. ત્રીજો અને ચોથો આંચકો 36થી 63 કિલોમીટરની આસપાસ એપિસેન્ટર હોય એ રીતે આવ્યા હતા. આંચકા મધ્યમ કક્ષાના હોવાથી કોઇ ભારે નુકસાન થયું નહોતું કે જાનહાનિના અહેવાલ પણ મળ્યા નહોતા. એક તરફ ભારે હિમવર્ષા અને જીવલેણ ઠંડી અને બીજી બાજુ ધરતીકંપના આંચકા આવતાં લોકોમાં ગભરાટ વધ્યો હતો.
